Always remember you might come across your boss again in your career or want a reference so treat leaving with respect even though you might feel differently inside. Here’s how to do it…
Ask your boss for a meeting and explain that you’ve really enjoyed your time at the company and learned a lot but you’ve now decided to explore other options
make sure you get your final day down in writing and agree to the things you’ll do before you go
Make a commitment to do the best job possible during your notice periods. You’re still paid to do the work, so keep doing it to the highest standard possible.
If you have bad feelings towards your workplace or boss, don’t air them it’s unprofessional
Tactfully arrange your leaving do and look forward to a new chapter
